"The Limits of Light," although a remix of Wakabayashi/Lap Dancer's debut "Limitless Light," stands on its own as a meditative reflection on themes such as isolation, the Void, desolation, nature and death. The pieces seem to come alive and are at once haunting and beautiful. A space has been created by these pieces, a space from which one can breathe, relax, contemplate and sink into one's own mind. Blending organic instruments with electronic manipulation, there is a certain timelessness about these pieces. One finds oneself being lulled by a flute, carried away by Ligeti-esque voices, pummelled by chaotic electronic rhythms or soothed by a cacophony of soaring clarinets. "The Limits of Light" is a journey that is best taken alone. Please lie back, relax and enjoy.
